Mrs. Marcella A. Raymond, 84, died on August 25, 2017 in Livingston. A funeral mass will be offered in St. Aloysius Church, Caldwell, on Tuesday, August 29 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona, is on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Raymond moved to Verona in 1960.

She received her BA in English from St. John’s University, an MA in English from Seton Hall University and taught at the Fort Greene Elementary School in Brooklyn.

Mrs. Raymond served as vice president of New Jersey Right to Life and was a volunteer at St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark.

She is the beloved wife of Donald L. Raymond; the loving mother of Donald J. Raymond (Rachel), Lenore Whitmore (Mark), Joan Dyer (James); the sister of Thomas Loftus and the late Jack Loftus.

Mrs. Raymond is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Whitmore, Daniel Whitmore and Riley Raymond.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the New Jersey Right to Life Education Foundation would be appreciated.
