Curb Painting Fundraiser To Benefit First Responders

Kyle Smith is a rising senior at Verona High School. He’s come up with an idea for a summer job, and combined it with giving back to the community.

For $15, Smith will paint your address number on the curb in front of your house. That will make it easier for the police and first responders to find it in case of emergency, and, he notes could also improve food delivery times. (Walk or drive down any Verona street if you want to see how impossible it often is to read the house numbers here.)

Smith says he will donate 25% of his proceeds to the Verona Fire Department and Verona Rescue Squad, both all-volunteer units that are always in need of donations. Smith has gotten approval for his number-painting plan from Verona’s town manager.

To get your number painted, email [email protected].
