On Saturday morning, July 1, Verona will swear in the three Town Council members who were elected in May: Jack McEvoy and Ted Giblin, who are beginning their first terms, and Kevin Ryan, who will be participating in his third swearing-in ceremony.

The start of a new Town Council term is also, however, a time to look back on the long service of Council members Jay Sniatkowski and Bob Manley, who did not stand for re-election this year. Both men were honored at the Council’s June 19 meeting, with County Executive Joseph N. Divincenzo Jr. also thanking them for their service–16 years for Sniatkowski and eight years for Manley. The ceremony was an opportunity for Sniatkowski and Manley to thank the residents who had supported them throughout the years, and to reflect on the progress that Verona had made.

You can watch the event in the video below, beginning at the 10-minute mark. The swearing-in ceremony will take place outside at the Civic Center at 9 a.m.
