Andrew Burger from the Verona Lions presents Michael Mughetto a Service Award check for his volunteer contributions to assist those within and outside of Verona.

The Verona Lions awarded Service Awards this week to graduating Verona students. This year the Lions awarded three service awards to outstanding students who have dedicated their personal time while in school to volunteer.

This year’s recipients were Michael Mughetto, Kelsey McKeen, and Olivia Lucanie. Mughetto graduated this year from Seton Hall Prep, and McKeen and Lucanie are graduating from Verona High School on Friday.

These students performed a variety of services to the town organizing efforts and encouraging others to give back to Verona. Some of the services they provided included Literacy education to needy children, peer leadership, church mission trips to aid needy families with housing, and international travel to Guatemala to support needy families with much less than we have.
The Lions are very proud of the contributions as young adults and encourage them to continue their volunteer giving.

The Verona Lions have been awarding outstanding volunteer service each year thru Service Awards since 1951. The Lions are an international organization with the motto “We Serve”. Please contact Andrew Burger for more information about the Verona Lions at [email protected].
