Verona’s third annual Green Fair takes place this Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the lawn in front of Town Hall.

The free festival features activities for adults and kids, and live music, with lots of eco-friendly business and vendors to help your family live more sustainability. There will also be a food drive, a place to drop off unwanted or expired medicines (so they don’t pollute our water supply) and a shredding truck, as well as information on solar energy, gardening and volunteer opportunities. Morgan’s Farm, the organic farm in Cedar Grove that was revived by Verona residents, will be selling strawberry plants and local honey.

The Green Fair is organized by Sustainable Verona, which is helping to make Verona “greener”. Rain is not currently in for forecast for Saturday, but if it does, the rain date for the Green Fair is Sunday, May 21.

This Saturday is also the day for the Town-Wide Garage Sale run by the Verona High School Student Council, an event that also encourages residents to follow the environmentalists’ mantra of “reduce, re-use, recycle”. More than 60 homes will be having garage sales that day, and you can find all the addresses–and some of the key items for sale, on this map.

If all that isn’t enough, there will also be an arts & crafts fair in Verona Park.
