The Verona Foundation for Educational Excellence (VFEE) is inviting the community to play a round or two of mini-golf this Saturday–and see close up the creative genius of H.B. Whitehorne Middle School’s Maker Club.
The students have built a famous inventor-themed mini-golf course and they’re going to put it to work on Saturday, May 13 on the lawn in front of Town Hall from 10 to 2 p.m. For $5 per person, you and your family can putt through a uniquely Verona course. If it’s raining on Saturday, the course will be moved indoors at HBW.
The HBW Maker Club is focused on creating more opportunities for students to develop confidence, creativity and interest in the physical and social sciences by incorporating technology, the principles of engineering and design, language arts and mathematics.
VFEE, a Verona-based nonprofit, funds a comprehensive grant program designed to enhance the educational experiences of Verona’s children. Faculty and staff can apply for core grants to enrich the classroom learning experience. VFEE also funds major projects that enable a school, a department, or team access to larger cash awards to further enhance a particular educational initiative.
