Travel back in time to the early days of the Bible for a musical experience filled with singing, dancing, humor and the lesson of forgiveness. The Westminster and Pilgrim Choirs at First Presbyterian Church at Caldwell are presenting the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 and at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 30 at the church, located at 326 Bloomfield Ave. in Caldwell.

Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door and can be purchased through this link.

The show is directed by Adriana Piercy and by music directors Rev. Barbara Jo Piercy and Noel Piercy of Verona, with help from Westminster Choir graduates Michael Hardenberg and Jamie Maraviglia, who helped choreograph the show. A live band accompanies each show.

The show is family friendly and features performances by 40 local youth in the Pilgrim and Westminster Choirs who live in the Caldwells, the great West Essex Area, Verona and Cedar Grove. Among the performers are Sam Mulick of West Caldwell as Joseph, Kelsey Witzel of North Caldwell as the Narrator, and Austin Mattern of West Caldwell as the Pharoah. Owen Yarmo-Gray, Eliana Salierno, Jack McHugh, and Griffin Willner of Verona also perform.

It is the 30th year that the church has sponsored a live musical for area youth. In February, the students presented the show on tour at churches in Florida and New Orleans, Louisiana. Previous choir tours have gone to San Francisco, Seattle, England, Vermont, and Canada. The choir is open to all students who enjoy singing and performing. A choir member does not have to belong to the church to participate.

A special collection will be taken for the Sarah Jane Hussey Fund, a fund that helps students with financial needs participate in the touring shows.
