The Verona High School Hillbillies kicked off the Holiday Classic tournament with a 45-17 blowout of Caldwell High School on Tuesday. It was another great defensive performance, as Verona held the Chiefs to only 7 points at the half.
The game was a team effort by the Hillbillies, having only one player score in double figures. Jack Farrell, seen setting up a shot in the video below, led with 10. Zack Zaccone scored 9 and Joe Zecchino, Rob Sorhaindo and Travis Jocelyn all had 8.
Verona will now play Cedar Grove on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the tournament championship. The game will be played at Caldwell University.
