Mrs. Mary Ellen Double, 70, died on December 8, 2016 in Livingston. A funeral mass will be offered in Our Lady of the Lake Church, Verona on Monday, December 12 at 10 a.m. Visiting in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Born in Mechanicsburg, Pa., Mrs. Double lived in Ocean View, Delaware and Roseland, N.J. prior to moving to West Orange last year.
A registered nurse, Mrs. Double had both a bachelors degree and a masters degree. She worked for Merck Pharmaceuticals prior to retiring.
Mrs. Double was the beloved mother of Amy Adornato (and her husband, David), the dear sister of Michael Cassidy and the loving grandmother of Kate Cassidy Adornato and Grace Anna Adornato.
In lieu of flowers, donations to North Shore Animal League, 25 Davis Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050 would be appreciated.
