Real Estate: Claridge Weekend

ClaridgeNewYou can see the Claridge condominium towers from just about anywhere in Verona. The first one was built on Verona’s eastern ridge in 1965, and the sister building added in 1976. There are 274 apartments in Claridge I and 330 apartments in Claridge II, from one bedrooms to spacious penthouses, with outdoor amenities like a pool, putting green and tennis courts. The two buildings became their own polling place in April, after decades of voting at Laning Avenue elementary school.

The Claridge towers often dominate the weekend real estate listings too. Six of this weekend’s 10 new listings are in the buildings. Here’s what’s happening in each category, from lowest priced to highest:

  1. Hi – I have trouble finding out new construction/properties in Verona. I want to buy a home that is in construction or haven’t started constructing yet.

I really appreciate your efforts bringing this site to community.

    Best,

  2. Verona is pretty much fully built. People who need new construction can, occasionally, find an older home that is in need of a gut renovation or a candidate for tear-down. But these too are rare. The newest construction we have right now in around Durrell Street near the Verona Pool. The townhouses and single family homes there were all built within the last four years. The former Annin flag factory is slated to be turned into apartments but the plans for that have not yet been approved.
