Friday Flicks At Kip’s

BigHero6Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo, Jr. invites families to come to Essex County Kip’s Castle Park for the Free Friday Flicks in June. Gates open at 7 p.m. and movies will be shown at dusk on the lawn at Essex County Kip’s Castle, 22 Crestmont Avenue, Verona. The public is encouraged to bring chairs or blankets on which to sit. Admission is free; refreshments will be for sale.

“We invite you to join us for an exciting night at the movies on our Kip’s Castle Park lawn. Families can enjoy the outdoor movie presentation and experience this magnificent location in a new way,” DiVincenzo said. “We look forward to seeing you at what will be an entertaining evening for children, families and individuals of all ages,” he added.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday, June 10: “Big Hero 6” (Rain date is Saturday, June 11)
When a criminal plot threatens the hi-tech metropolis of San Fransokyo, brilliant young robotics whiz Hiro Hamada leaps into action with his tech-savvy friends and his robot companion Baymax in Disney Animation’s adaptation of the popular Marvel Comics series.

Friday, June 17: “Cinderella” (Rain date is Saturday, June 18th)
Disney’s 2015, live-action take on the classic fairy tale Cinderella stars Lily James as the put-upon young woman forced to endure a life of labor at the hands of her stepmother after her father dies unexpectedly. Ella maintains her good spirits and eventually strikes up a friendship with a stranger in the woods who turns out to be the prince. When the royal court holds a gala ball, Cinderella wants nothing more than to attend and, although her stepmother won’t allow it, she gets help from a surprising source. Before the movie, there will be a Cinderella performer to meet guests in the castle and face painting will be held outside.
