Derek Mithaug, the co-owner of Verona’s own electric bike store Electric Spokes has let us know that there’s a bike tour in Montclair this Saturday, May 28.
The “Tour Des Fleurs” is part of a series of rides organized by Bike-Walk Montclair. It will start at the Montclair Farmers’ Market at 86 Walnut Street, and guide riders to see gardens and flowers in Montclair and Glen Ridge. The whole ride will be about 10 to 12 miles. Bike-Walk Montclair’s site notes that the ride is open to adults and “mature teens who are comfortable with street riding but are ready to learn some savvy bike ‘driving’ skills.” There’s a suggested donation of $10 per person.
If you are going to join the ride, you need to meet at the Farmer’s Market at 7:45 a.m. Bike-Walk Montclair says riders should come with a charged cell phone, helmet, full water bottle, and spare tube. It also recommends checking your bike’s air, brakes and chain before you ride. The ride will start at 8 a.m. and finish around 11.
