Verona Police Blotter: May 6-13

10:42 AM Officer Anthony Condorelli took a report of a burglary from a Lynwood Road resident. The resident reported that during the overnight hours, his vehicle was entered and his wallet was taken. Wallet contained his NJ driver’s license, credit cards and personal identification.

2:41 PM While investigating a motor vehicle accident, Office Chris Scheper discovered an active warrant from the Orange Municipal Court for one of the vehicle operators. The operator, Ebony Duncan of Orange was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. After processing she posted bail and was released.

May 7, 2016

5:13 PM Officer Steve Young took a report of lost property from a Personette Avenue resident. The resident reported that she lost her NJ driver’s license. She was provided with identity theft information.

9:13 PM Officer Justin Nielsen took a report of lost property from a Hillside Avenue resident. The resident reported that he lost his cell phone while at a Bloomfield Avenue business. The resident was advised to contact his cell phone carrier. The business was checked in an attempt to locate the phone with negative results.

May 9, 2016

5:22 AM While on patrol, Officer Robert Maguire found a large black bag in the roadway. The bag contained clothing and identification for a Morningside Road resident. Upon speaking with the resident, it was discovered that two of his vehicles had been entered. Missing from the vehicles was the black bag, sunglasses, a Fitbit and change. The value of the missing items is unknown at this time.

6:04 AM While checking the Morningside Road area, Officer Robert Juliano observed an open glove compartment and items strew about a vehicle that was parked on the roadway. Upon speaking to the resident, it was determined that the vehicle, along with a second vehicle that had been parked in the driveway, had been entered. Reported missing at this time are three iPads. Value of missing items is unknown at this time.

9:26 AM Officer Ed Ruff took a report of a fraud from a Westover Road resident. The resident reported that he had been contacted by Verizon regarding an outstanding balance on an account that was opened in December. The resident advised Verizon that he does not have an account with them. The resident was provided with identity theft information.

2:57 PM Officer Michael Barone took a report of criminal mischief on Lakeside Avenue. A Verizon Employee reported that a fiber optic line in the area had been cut. Value of the damage is unknown at this time.

6:19 PM Officer Steve Young took a report of property damage form a Park Avenue resident. The resident reported sewage backing up into her apartment. Damage was observed in the kitchen and bathroom. Value of the damage is unknown at this time.

May 11, 2016

5:41 AM Sgt. Dave Wardrope took a report of found property from a West Lincoln Street resident. The resident reported finding an iPhone on Bloomfield Avenue. The owner was located and the property was returned.
