Candles4Mr. William A. Dewar, 82, died on Thursday, April 7, 2016 in the Mountainside Hospital, Glen Ridge. Services will be held in the United Methodist Church of Verona, 26 Montrose Avenue, Verona on Tuesday, April 12 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.

Born in Glen Ridge, Bill was a lifelong resident of Verona and very active in the United Methodist Church of Verona. He worked for 47 years as the yard clerk at West Essex Building Supply in Verona, retiring in 1998.

Bill was the loving husband of the late Irmal C. Dewar, the dear father of Gary Roe, Gloria Jean Greene, Lisa Smith and Michael Dewar. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the United Methodist Church of Verona would be appreciated.

  1. My Father was good friends with Bill, would always greet us with a smile at the lumber yard…He would say…”Hey Tommy Wands what can I do you”…My Dad would reply….”How you doing Jr.”
