1:50 AM Officer Robert Juliano conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bloomfield Avenue for an observed violation. As the officer was speaking to the operator, he detected an odor of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. The operator admitting to having marijuana in the vehicle which he retrieved for the officer. Shakedoya Sutherland of Irvington was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. After processing Sutherland was released.

12:58 pm Officer Anthony Condorelli took a report of found property from a Morningside Road resident. The resident reported finding a cell phone near Verona Park. The owner was located and the phone was returned.

March 21, 2016

5:28 PM Sgt. Robert Shafer took a report of fraud from a Pease Avenue resident. The resident reported that she received a bill from a collection agency for an AT&T account. When she contacted AT&T, she was advised that someone had opened an account using her information. She advised the company that she never opened an account and the company closed it. She was provided with identity theft information.

March 22, 2016

2:58 PM Officer Thomas Conroy took a report of a found driver’s license. He made contact with the owner and the license was returned.

March 23, 2016

2:06 PM Officer Ed Ruff took a report of a found purse at a Bloomfield Avenue business. The officer attempted to make contact with the owner of the purse with negative results.

4:50 PM Officer Robert Maguire conducted a motor vehicle stop on Sunset Avenue after a check of the vehicles registration showed it to be expired. Upon checking the operators credentials, active warrants were found from the Irvington and Jersey City Municipal courts. The operator, Shafi Uddin Ahmed of Staten Island was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. After processing Ahmed posted bail and was released.

7:08 PM Sgt. David Wardrope took a report of a fraud from a Linn Drive resident. The resident reported receiving a call from Discover Card regarding an account that was opened in his name. He contacted Discover and advised them that he did not open an account. Discovered closed the account after advising the resident that his date of birth and social security number were used to open the account. He was provided with identity theft information.

March 24, 2016

3:28 PM Officer Chris Scheper took a report of property damage from a Park Avenue resident. The resident reported that his driveway and retaining wall were damaged by a truck that was turning out of a neighbor’s driveway. Value of the damage is unknown at this time.

8:01 PM Officer Michael Barone took a report of harassing phone calls from a Meadow Lane resident. The resident stated that she received a call from an unknown female asking about her boys. The resident hung up the phone. A short time later a male called asking her several questions. The resident told the caller she did not know him and hung up the phone. The male then called back and threatened the resident. The resident then received several more calls from the same number which she did not answer. The resident was advised to block the number and contact the police if she receives any more calls.

9:29 PM Officer Chris Scheper took a report of a neighbor dispute at a Linn Drive residence. The downstairs resident reported that the upstairs resident was making an excessive amount of noise. The upstairs resident stated that he was not making any noise. All parties were advised of complaint procedures and to contact the police if there are any further issues.

  1. Anyone gettin phone calls from a person with English difficulties representing Microsoft from telephone # 69 666 6961 should contact the FTC as I did. The caller is persistence AND calls numerous time after being told to cease. 4 time in one day.
