Home Run Derby Aids Children’s Fund

HomeRun2015Tommy Monroe (center), one of the big hitters for the Verona Baseball & Softball League this year, and VBSL President Rich Williamson were at Monday’s Town Council meeting presenting a donation to the Verona Children’s Fund. Four years ago, VBSL started a home run derby challenge in which S.J. Carney Roofing, a company that Williamson is affiliated with, donates $10 for each home run hit during the spring/summer season and VBSL matches the amount. Thirty-five home runs were hit this season and Monroe led the scoring.
