On Saturday, June 13, during the annual student piano recital presented by Michael Palmieri at The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Montclair, the “Musician of the Year” was awarded to Verona resident Jenni Lyon.
The “Musician of the Year” award is presented to the most outstanding overall musician. Some of the many criteria for winning the award include self-motivation, the desire to learn, self-discipline and an ability to have fun making music. The award also honors Jenni for her knowledge and understanding of music.
Jenni Lyon, a Verona High School tenth grade student, played Sonata K. 545, Mo. 2 by W. A. Mozart.
Palmieri says, “By developing an enjoyment for music, Jenni has been successful at enriching and broadening her life”.
Regarding her as model for his other pupils, Mr. Palmieri says, “Jenni’s satisfaction and success have come to her because of a passion she has for what she’s doing”.
Verona residents are sure to keep an eye on the future of this energetic talented musician.
