There was a rare uptick in crime in Verona as a senior citizen was assaulted in a home invasion amid a rash of burglaries. Two suspects were quickly caught however.

What else was going on? A Verona High School senior had to choose between 16 college acceptances, a reform ticket won two Town Council seats and a member of the Verona Police force died.
