Arthur-HollandsArthur Hollands is a Japanese minister who has taken his preaching to the people of his own country by walking it from north to south carrying a cross. In March 2014, he left Santa Monica, Calif. on a walk across America. Yesterday, that walk took him on Bloomfield Avenue through Verona, where reader Natasha Hiden-Burns got this photo. Hollands walks at least 20 miles each day with the cross, which though wheeled is reported to weigh about 85 pounds.

Today, Hollands, who is known for working with former Yakuza gang members in Japan, will be walking from Bergen County across the George Washington Bridge through Manhattan and into Brooklyn. According to the most recent map on his Facebook page, his destination appears to be Long Island.
