NewBoathouse6There’s going to be a walk in Verona Park this Sunday to raise awareness of liver disease and funds for research, but unlike many of the walks that go through the park, this one will have a very tangible Verona connection.

In April, Verona resident Lorrie Gautieri donated 65% of her liver to her brother Carl, who had been diagnosed with liver disease in October 2014. Gautieri and her brother–who are both recovering nicely–and their families will be walking in the Liver Life Walk New Jersey. It’s a 5K/3-mile walk and registration starts at 9 a.m. The walk itself begins at 10 a.m., rain or shine.
