This year’s Verona High School prom is being held at Ravello’s in East Hanover. But on Monday, Eagle Rock Avenue at River Road in East Hanover was closed for a four-month-long repair to the nearby bridge over the Passaic River. Which means that students and their chauffeurs are going to have to find another route to Ravello’s.
Trouble is, as a Verona commuter who travels to that area points out, there is no easy alternate route because of the parks and wetlands that surround the Passaic River there. Google Maps is giving two options, both of which will add time and confusion to the trip. You’ll either have to take 280 all the way out to New Road and double back on Ridgedale Avenue, or head to Route 10 then turn right on Ridgedale by Daffy’s and drive all the way back to Eagle Rock.

Ridgedale Avenue should be River Road. The Daffy’s closed about a year ago and has been replaced by a Verizon store.
