Chait-WO-2015Verona High School junior Noah Chait wears the number 13 on his baseball jersey but he knocked out any of the negative connotations of that number on Monday, when he pounded out a bases-loaded double that gave VHS a 9-6 win over West Orange.

Verona got more help in the win from Austin Masters, who was 3-for-4 with one run and an RBI, and Ian Metzger, who got a run and an RBI in two at bats. Collin Kiernan took a break from the mound, but not from spectacular play: He made a diving catch in left field, held onto the ball as he flipped and threw the runner out at home.

The Hillbillies, who are 6-2 on the season, head to Newark Academy on Wednesday.Kiernan-WO-2015
