Mr. Dominick N. Scarola, 69, died on March 25, 2015 at the Hospice of New Jersey in Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family in the Prout Funeral Home, 370 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona on Saturday, March 28 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Born in Jersey City, Mr. Scarola grew up in Lyndhurst and lived in Bloomfield prior to moving to Verona in 1991, where he was a member of the Verona Rescue Squad.
Mr. Scarola had a bachelor of science in public health from New York University and was a respiratory therapist for 30 years, retiring from the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in 2013. He also served as an educator and mentor in the NYU Allied Health program.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Scarola, his daughters, Kristin Scarola (and her husband, John O’Brien), Meagan Scarola and his granddaughter, Saveria (Sadie) O’Brien.
