The Verona Public Library is pleased to offer “An Afternoon of Spanish Music”, a concert by some very accomplished musicians.
The performance will showcase Spanish-influenced compositions ranging from Piazzolla, Albeniz, and Rodrigo to Chick Corea, featuring two pianos and a guitar: Alex Valencia on guitar, Shiho Vogel and José Beviá on piano.
Valencia, who began playing the guitar 13, trained at the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá in Colombia before earning a degree in guitar performance from Kean University. He has performed in master classes for guitarists such as Jason Viauex and Kevin Gallaguer. Vogel holds a doctorate of musical arts degree in piano performance from Michigan State University, and is a founding faculty member and executive director of the Lindeblad School of Music. Beviá graduated from the Valencia Conservatory of Music and earned a doctor of music degree from Florida State University. He is a professor of music at County College of Morris in Randolph.
The event is Sunday, February 22 at 3 p.m. in the Library’s Meeting Room. Call 973-857-4848 for more information. Sponsored by the Friends of the Verona Public Library.
