MyVeronaNJ-First-PresbyterianWith the new year, there are lots of things going on at the First Presbyterian Church of Verona (located at 10 Fairview Avenue with ample parking in the lot behind the church):

  • Every Tuesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Thrift Shop (lower level of the church) will be open. The last Saturday of the month is the $7 bag sale: Fill a bag (supplied) with clothing for only $7 (certain restrictions apply).
  • Every Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. the adult choir meets for practice. Anyone with a love of singing and music is invited to join.
  • Sunday, January 11 at 10:15 a.m.: Rev. Allyson Glass will be preaching. Immediately following the service and coffee hour there will be a new members class conducted by the Rev. Julia Dawson for anyone interested in joining the church or just learning about membership.
  • Sunday, January 18: Rev. Deborah Oosterbaan will be preaching. Following the service and coffee hour there will be a second new members class conducted by the Rev. Julia Dawson.
  • Sunday, January 25: Rev. Bob Pryor will be preaching.
  • Friday, January 30 to Saturday January 31, the church will be hosting its annual retreat at Camp Johnsonburg. The camp, located in Warren County, N.J., offers all sorts of outside activities as well as a plenty of places to just rest and relax.
