Defensively the Hillbillies were stout. Teams scored only an average of 8.5 points per game against the ‘Billies D, including shutouts in the last two playoff wins.

Junior Nick DePaul led the team in tackles with over 70. He also had 3 sacks and a fumble recovery. Senior Jimmie Crawford and his brother Sean each had almost 60 tackles. Jimmie also rushed for over 350 yards, caught nine passes, and scored seven touchdowns. Another junior, Mark Riggio, made 38 tackles and rushed for 250 yards. The defensive backfield is also talented and young. Sophomores Matt and Zack Zaccone each had two interceptions, as did junior Chris Valentine.

There was to be no three-peat from Pompton Lakes.
