There were two wins apiece for Verona High School’s cross-country teams at Branch Brook Park on Tuesday, September 16. The boys beat East Orange, 22-33, and Glen Ridge, 25-30. The girls were up against Livingston and West Orange, and beat them by scores of 28-31 and 27-28, respectively.

Ryan Ramsthaler led the racing for Verona, turning in a time of 18:28. Chris Feury and Brad Smith were next for VHS, finishing within seconds of each other at 19:28 and 19:31. Dino Calandra (20:15) and Jim Cuddihy (20:27) rounded out the top five for the Hillbilly boys.

In the girls race, Maggie Ashley turned in a 22:48 time, followed closely by Amanda Flores with a 22:59 finish. Emily Petermann (23:54), Ava Anderson (24:10) and Gabi Horton (24:24) also finished in the top five for VHS.
