Verona Voices kicks off preparations for the fall season with an open house on September 9 at 7 p.m. New and returning singers are welcome at the meet and greet to be held in the H B Whitehorne School’s Music Room. Refreshments will be served.
“We are happy to say that Denise Bastanza is returning as director and Helga Bartus is returning as accompanist”, said the group’s president, Tom Jung. The fall music selection is performed at a concert and benefit performances in December.
Selections for the season include Christmas and Hanukkah songs, winter songs, even a comedic piece (“Cold and Fugue Season”). Musical styles range from Boogie to Irving Berlin.
The group attracts members from Verona and nearby towns, but some come from as far away as Clifton and Roseland. The HBW Music Room is accessible from Municipal Parking lot #1, and is the door closest to Terry’s Drugs/Chase Bank.
