A Verona educator has let us know that there will be a workshop in Millburn next week that Verona parents might want to attend if they have questions or concerns about the Common Core curriculum standards that New Jersey now follows or the so-called PARCC standardized test that is coming here in the 2014-2015 school year.
The Millburn Short Hills Special Education Committee and a group called Preserve Our Schools are hosting a program on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Millburn Public Library. The event features Carolee Adams, a frequent speaker on Common Core and PARCC in New Jersey and in Washington. The library is located at 200 Glen Avenue in Millburn. Nina Peckman, a staff attorney with Advocates for Children of New Jersey, will answer questions about standardized testing and students with disabilities.
You can get a sense of Adams’ presentation by watching the video below.
