ParkDinerThe diner that sits at the Bloomfield Avenue entrance to Verona Park is for sale. The spot at 1 Lakeview Place was most recently the location of Lisboa BBQ, a Portuguese restaurant that has closed. For many years before that, it was known as Lucy’s Diner and served southern Italian food.

There’s little information on the diner now except the asking price, which is $369,900. Prospective buyers might also be interested to know that, just up the block there are going to be two new apartment buildings, with 20 rentals aimed at young professionals.

The listing is by Izabella Nakhimovich of Coldwell Banker Franklin Realty in Nutley. You can see more details here.

  1. This would be a perfect spot for a coffee shop or cafe, catering to people coming into Verona Park. We need a good independent coffee shop in Verona. Dunkin Donuts is great but bland. Starbucks is bleh. Something like Fine Grind in Little Falls or Rockin’ Joe in Caldwell.

  2. I agree 100% with Cameron. Verona needs a coffee shop/cafe. I was thinking more along the lines of Red Eye Cafe in Montclair.

  3. It will always be Lucy’s Diner to me. My Dad lived on Verona Place and would go there most mornings for his coffee. He always called it Lucy’s by the park.

  4. does anyone know if vinny canara owned the Verona diner?
didn’t remember if he and carol owned it or worked there
