12U Softball Competes In Tournament

12U-Softball2014The Verona 12U Softball Barnstormers played in the 52-team Michelle Fund Softball Tournament, held from May 2 to 4 in Montville. The team compiled a 3-0 record on Saturday against regional teams. It was seeded sixth of 19 teams in the 12U division, and was placed in the Gold Division for Sunday’s quarterfinals. On Sunday at high noon, the Barnstormers faced third-seeded Vernon at Reilly Field in Towaco. A hard fought six-inning game ensued, where Vernon faced their toughest competition of the tournament, and outlasted the Barnstormers. Vernon went on to win the overall 12U Gold Division.
