In case you didn’t get the message that just went out to the landlines, cell phones and emails of all Verona public schools parents, the Verona public schools will be closed today, Tuesday, December 17.
The weather is not, to borrow some language from the schools’ message, very “inclement” right now. But it could get that way soon. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for our area, calling for three to five inches of snow, with periods of sleet or freezing rain.
The schools appear to be taking no chances after last week’s rush-hour snowfall, which led to 11 accidents in Verona. Fewer north Jersey schools appear to have called a closing today than last week, according to News12’s list, with many opting for a delayed opening. But Montclair schools are closed, as are those in Cedar Grove. Seton Hall Prep and Mount Saint Dominic are also closed.
So kick back and plan your snowman. Send us a photo and you might win a prize.
