Verona’s Mayor and Council has scheduled the Fair in the Square on Saturday, December 7, from noon to 5 p.m. (rain date: Sunday, December 8) at Verona Civic Center Square – 600 Bloomfield Avenue.
The Township welcomes Wells Fargo and Eight Hills Caterers as the Horse Drawn Wagon Ride co-sponsors. Riders can board the wagon behind Town Hall and be treated to a free ride along Gould Street from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be limited vehicular access to Gould Street during the festivities.
“Wells Fargo is excited to participate in the Verona Fair in the Square and we look forward to co-sponsoring the ride which so many people enjoy. This is a wonderful community event and our team will be on hand at our table to talk to parents about teen financial education,” noted Lissette Morales, Verona Store Manager/ Vice President, Wells Fargo.
As a founder of Fair in the Square, Jimmy Hill of Eight Hills Caterers remains an enthusiastic supporter of the Fair and will continue to serve the fair goers from the Fair’s food court. “The Fair creates an opportunity for the community to come together to enjoy good food, entertainment, fun family activities and start their holiday shopping conveniently close to home,” he said.
Fair goers will be entertained by Polka Dot, who will sing dance and get the young at heart moving and shaking. Strolling stilts walkers, fire eating characters and puppeteers will again interact and amuse attendees. Food and beverages will by sold by some of Verona’s favorite restaurants in the food court.
The 17th annual Fair in the Square is a tradition in Verona, and coordinators encourage participation from vendors and organizations to perform, create crafts, play games, and sell holiday gift items. Participation and activities are still lining up, and many favorite vendors and organizations are returning with new surprises. The organizers will prepare and notify the media with a full schedule of activities in the coming weeks.
