EbcosetteEighth graders from H.B. Whitehorne Middle School went to the County College of Morris today to catch a very special performance of Les Miserables.

The entire eighth grade class went and prepared for the play by having class lessons about that period in French history, discussions of the Enlightenment period and author Victor Hugo, reading passages of the play, and listening to the music from the musical.

After the show, we also had the occasion to speak to several cast members, including Kevin Ohlweiler (above and below with students), a 2010 graduate of Verona High School who was very active in theater at HBW as well. Ohlweiler played the roles of Foreman, Combeferre and Convict.

Les Miserables will be performed at CCM this weekend and next, and you can buy tickets online here. Performances are tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m., and there is a matinee on Saturday at 2 p.m. Next weekend–which is the long weekend for the teachers’ convention–the performances are Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Saturday matinee, again at 2 p.m. General admission tickets are $15; CCM students, alumni and seniors are $10. County College of Morris is located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph.
