Jo Ann Short, President/CEO of the YMCA of Montclair, and Alicia Robinson, Montclair Branch Manager of Investors Bank, have announced Investors Bank as the lead sponsor of the YMCA of Montclair’s 1891 Community Gala. The event occurs on Saturday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Valley Regency in Clifton.
“Like the YMCA of Montclair, Investors Bank is committed to serving the community,” said Short. “They have supported our Gala since its inception and we are thrilled that they are returning this year as our lead sponsor. They have also given generously to our annual Montclair Run and capital projects.”
“Investors Bank is proud to be the lead sponsor of the YMCA of Montclair’s 1891 Community Gala,” said Kevin Cummings, President and CEO of Investors Bank. “Since its founding in 1844, the YMCA has been committed to ‘creating programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.’ To all of us at Investors Bank, this means the Y works to build healthy individuals, and, in turn, healthy families and communities—a cause always worth supporting.”
This year’s gala honors community leaders Sean and Sue Cullinan for their continued support of the YMCA. Event co-chairs are Heidi Daus of Heidi Daus Designs and Michael Turgeon, Treasurer of the YMCA of Montclair Board of Directors.
Over the last two years, the gala has raised nearly $300,000. Every dollar raised goes toward the Y’s Financial Assistance Program, which provides scholarships to families and individuals with demonstrated need from our community. Last year, scholarships allowed over 300 children to attend YMCA summer camps; 400 individuals to become members; and over 200 children to get safe after school care.
