The polls in Verona opened at 6 a.m. and they close at 8 p.m.: Plenty of time for you to get there and cast your ballot in the special Senate election to fill the seat opened by the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg earlier this year.
The two candidates at the top of the ballot both come from the ranks of New Jersey’s mayors. Democratic nominee Cory Booker has been mayor of Newark since 2006, while Steve Lonegan, a Republican, was the mayor of Bogota from 1995 to 2007.
