Raul Villarreal, a Verona artist who helped his father write a book on his life with Ernest Hemingway in Cuba, will have a talk about the book Hemingway’s Cuban Son at New Jersey City University on Tuesday, October 15.

Villarreal’s father was the caretaker of Finca Vigia, Hemingway’s estate, and served as Hemingway’s personal assistant. The Villarreal family emigrated from Cuba to Spain and then the United States after Casto came to power.

The presentation, which takes place in Hepburn Hall – Room 202, runs from 4 to 5 p.m. There will be a reception and book signing following the presentation.

The event is sponsored by the Council on Hispanic Affairs, Federación de Estudiantes Latino Americanos and the Latino Cultural Center. For more information contact the LCC at 201-200-2061.

New Jersey City University is located at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Guests should use the parking lot on Culver Avenue. You must have a Jersey City resident permit to park on the streets after 3 p.m.
