The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of New Jersey until 5 p.m. on Monday.
A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for producing a tornado. If one is spotted, the Weather Service will escalate to a tornado warning. If that happens, move away from the windows, and head to your basement if possible.
UPDATE: The public schools have just sent an email saying that, because of the severe weather alert, all outdoor school activities scheduled from 3:00-5:30 have either been canceled or moved indoors. Events scheduled for after 5:30 PM are still on. Students who are not involved in afterschool activities are being advised to go directly home. This means that VHS tennis and girls soccer are cancelled but the JV football game is still on.
