East Side High School came to the west side of Verona on Monday and defeated the Verona High School boys soccer team 6-1. Senior Matt Braschi scored the lone goal for Verona.
The Newark team’s offense was led by Jason Neves, with three goals and seconded by Carlos Troya and John Branco.
The Hillbillies travel to Maplewood on Wednesday for a rematch against Columbia High School. Verona beat Columbia 4-2 in their first game last month.
