Playing in Maplewood, the Verona squad piled up 25-19 and 25-12 scores. Senior Eliza Sniatkowski led Verona’s play with 10 kills, four aces, 11 service points and four digs. Junior Paige Ferrell also had four digs, as well as two aces and eight service points, while fellow junior Alex Luehs had 20 assists, three digs, one ace and one service point.
Kelly Brown and Gabby Salinardo had six aces apiece for the Cougars, which now have a 2-6 record.
The Hillbillies take on a challenging Newark Academy team at home on Tuesday, October 1, with a 4 p.m. start.
