Jill-CorriganThere is a coast-to-coast relay run going on right now to raise money for the Boston Marathon bombing victims. One Run For Boston started in Venice Beach, Calif. on June 7, and Verona resident Jill Corrigan is going to be part of a key East Coast leg.

The runners are currently in Oklahoma and will hit New Jersey on Saturday, June 29. On that day, Corrigan and a few others will be running from River Bank Park in Newark to the World Trade Center Memorial–in part on a Hudson River ferry–to continue the journey to Boston.

“What I think is truly remarkable is that at the moment it’s me and three others, and I’m the only one that’s local,” Corrigan says. “Everyone else is from out of state.”

There are spots for 25 runners per stage, so if you want to join Corrigan, you can sign up here. Not a runner? You can make a donation here.
