Baseball-GR1The Glen Ridge High School baseball team came alive in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game against Verona, but by that point the damage had been done:  Verona already had the nine runs it would need to win the game, 9-5.

Baseball-GR3“Tuesday” and “triple” start with the same letter, and the Hillbilly baseball team worked both to maximum advantage. Jon Tosh, Luke Sniatkowski and Dean DeNicola all put three-baggers on the scoreboard–or rather would have, had the scoreboard been working. Tosh sent home four runs, while Sniatkowski’s efforts drove home three. Tosh was also hot on the mound, with five strikeouts over seven innings.

Verona is now 8-11. The team travels to Sussex Tech on Wednesday.Baseball-GR2
