It’s been a win and a loss apiece this week for the Verona High School girls and boys lacrosse teams. The girls started the week with a 15-7 away loss to Columbia High School on Tuesday. The team was back at Centennial on Thursday and put the home-field advantage to good use, scoring a 12-5 over Scotch Plains. Casie Milmoe led the scoring with five goals, while freshman Amanda Maguire had 10 saves in her debut as goalie.

The boys lacrosse team finally has more wins than losses to their credit. The boys fell to Blair Academy 9-2 on Monday, but rallied to beat Gov. Livingston on Wednesday 11-8. Anthony Codella and Matt Thompson had three goals apiece in the game. The boys travel to Scotch Plains tomorrow for an early morning game.
