Verona is home to many churches with a long history of serving the township. The First Congregational Church of Verona is the oldest standing church edifice in Verona. The original section was built in 1896 and it was one of the first buildings equipped with electric lighting in Verona.
The Verona Historical Society invites you to join them at the church on Monday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. The history and folklore of the church will be discussed and you will get to see a unique piece of Old Verona.
All are welcome to what promises to be a fascinating presentation you will not want to miss. The First Congregational Church is located at 19 Church Street, a half block north of Bloomfield Avenue, east of Verona Park.
Church Street is one-way going toward Bloomfield Ave. Parking is also available on Malvern Place, the next block east. If you park on Malvern, look for the Robin’s Nest II Nursery sign and walk down the driveway to the rear entrance. The church is handicap-accessible from the rear entrance.
