Bye Bye Movies, Hello Strip Mall?

Cinema23-DemolitionThe demolition crews were hard at work at the former Cinema 23 location in the Pilgrim Plaza Shopping Center yesterday.

Cedar Grove officials say the property’s owner, Diener Family Partnership, has filed a permit for interior demolition only and has unspecified plans for a strip mall-like development.

Cinema 23 closed in May 2010. The Pilgrim complex has gotten a boost from the expansion of Platinum Fitness and the arrival of Anthony Franco’s, but the former Mandees space remains vacant.
