The demolition crews were hard at work at the former Cinema 23 location in the Pilgrim Plaza Shopping Center yesterday.
Cedar Grove officials say the property’s owner, Diener Family Partnership, has filed a permit for interior demolition only and has unspecified plans for a strip mall-like development.
Cinema 23 closed in May 2010. The Pilgrim complex has gotten a boost from the expansion of Platinum Fitness and the arrival of Anthony Franco’s, but the former Mandees space remains vacant.
I hope they put in a decent coffee shop. That area of town could use a good coffee lounge. Not Starbucks (bleh!).
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a Michaels, or a Home Goods there.
Chipolte, Starbucks, Panera, Smashburger!!!!!! Who can we talk to about the plans for this spot?
The owner appears to be based in Hackensack. There was no leasing agent posted on the building when I was by the other day.
Anything other than a pizza place or nail salon would be welcome.
