Come join the discussion about “Where are we now?” and “Where are we headed?” as Together North Jersey works to develop a regional plan to connect people, places, and potential.
Together North Jersey, Essex County, and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) invite members of the public to share their ideas at an upcoming workshop to be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Essex County Richard J. Codey Arena at South Mountain – Conference Room and Atrium, 560 Northfield Avenue, West Orange, NJ. This input will be used to develop the long-range plans that will shape the future of northern and central New Jersey.
The workshop is part of a series being held throughout the region by Together North Jersey, a consortium of local, state, and regional partners working together on a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development. These workshops are an opportunity for the public to share ideas about planning for the future to build stronger communities and local and regional economies with better access to transportation, housing, jobs, and educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities. The NJTPA also will be on hand to discuss Plan 2040, its update to the long-range transportation plan for the region.
The workshops will include the public, local government, community groups, private industry and business representatives, and other interested parties. The workshops will begin with an open house and presentations on the planning process. This will be followed by breakout sessions on regional goals and priorities.
