The Verona High School girls basketball team cruised toward the end of its season with a 54-40 win over Newark’s Technology High School at home on Monday evening.
It was the Senior Day game, but junior Julie Rosenberg was the lead scorer for VHS with 18 points. Senior Amanda Langan had 14 points and fellow seniors Bridgett McIntyre and Danielle Watkins were also in on the action, with Watkins putting up five points on the evening. Olivia Lewis, the manager of the girls team and also a member of the Class of 2013, was recognized for her work on Senior Day as well. E’Mazhane Livingston was the top scorer for Tech with 20 points.
The VHS girls are 15-9 on the season. They take on Becton Regional High School in East Rutherford tonight at 7 p.m.

My niece, Olivia Lewis, was also honored at the Senior Day game as the manager of the girls team. Why wasn’t she mentioned. Please mention her.
You are absolutely right, and Olivia has been very helpful on getting us stats about the game. My apologies for failing to note that in the story. Will add it in now.
Thank you Virginia. Much appreciated!!
