Over the weekend, the Star Ledger drew up a list of New Jersey wrestlers with the most pins. It should come as no surprise that there was a Verona High School name on that list: Joe Cordasco.
Cordasco has 20 pins to his credit this season, just two shy of the top wrestler on the list, John VanBrill of Clearview High School, a regional school in south Jersey.
Cordasco, who pinned Nick Sibilia of James Caldwell High School last weekend to win a first place trophy in the Essex County Wrestling Tournament, will be on the mat against Bloomfield this week. The home match has a 6 p.m. start.
