An HVAC crew was out this morning at the at the intersection of Pompton and Bloomfield Avenues, getting Verona’s newest business ready for its opening. As we told you last October, Pep Boys is taking over the long vacant Chrysler showroom at that corner.

The landlord has re-roofed the building and is doing work to the ventilation system. A spokesman for Pep Boys says that the car parts, accessories and repairs company will begin its work on the site in March. It is making interior renovations and installing new signage, but it intends to keep the Chrysler-logo shaped room at the western side of the building. The spokesman says that work on the site got behind because of Hurricane Sandy and other factors, but Pep Boys hopes to be open in Verona in mid-April.
