After a week of balmy temperatures it was bound to happen: The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, sleet and freezing rain.

The alert is in effect from midnight Tuesday through 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The storm will start as snow and then change over to freezing rain just in time for school drop offs. Temperatures are expected to fall into the low 30s and we could see an inch of snow and a thin layer of ice.

The Weather Service says to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities.
